It is a pleasure to offer a fabulous hand made bracelet constructed from ingot made in the overlay technique with lovely gracefully designed overlay work on the sides in a design related to water and prayer feathers. The central area contains chiseled lines extending from the central stone to the edges which are scalloped. The stone is hand carved and beautiful natural turquoise plain bezel set and framed in hand twisted wire. All the work is top notch, very high quality and beautiful. The condition is excellent vintage wearable and collectible. The internal length of the silver alone is about 5-7/8" with a gap of 1-1/8" which could be adjusted b a jeweler but current total is 7. The width is 1.5" at the center tapering to 1-1/8" at the terminals and the weight is 59.6grams. This piece is signed stamped AJD or ADJ depending on how you read the initials. Could relate to two people, like A&J D or A&D J, but unfortunately I wasn't able to determine the artist and would be happy to hear if someone does. This kind of work is either very early in Hopi, because the overlay wasn't textured early on, or it's Navajo I believe.

It's so well done that it's disappointing not to know the artist. Highly collectible, rare to find such a gorgeous, elegant, mid-century piece, sturdy and suitable for every day use, appreciation and joy!

I care that you're happy and about my accuracy, and will always stand behind my work. My attributions are guaranteed for my lifetime. When I include pages from published books in my listings it is in accordance with Fair Use Law, which permits the use of source material for discussion, reference, education and criticism. Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target.

All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. Everything I sell comes from my personal collection or is something that I would include in my personal collection.

I vet every item carefully for quality and condition, and offer you the best. I want you to be able to rely on me for top quality, superb items that are often unique and rare examples of old antique vintage southwest, indian, native american and fine gold and gemstones, whether you're starting a collection or adding to one, or want something great to wear or gift. My goal is that all my buyers are delighted, that my special pieces find the right homes.
